Day 3: Take a Rest

It’s time for Day 3 of your 4-Week Total Body Transformation Challenge: a rest day. Taking a full day away from any strenuous physical activity is a great way to give your body and mind a break from all the hard work you’ve been putting in.

Rest days don’t mean that you’re not doing any activity at all. This is the time to focus on light stretching, leisurely walks, and restorative yoga to help your muscles recover from the work you’ve done so far.

Rest days are a must if you plan on reaping the rewards of your workout routine. Not giving your body time to recover can make you more prone to injury or burnout. Plus, it prevents your exercise routine from becoming stale and boring.

To make the most of your rest day, be sure to get a full night’s sleep, fuel up with nutrient-rich meals, and give yourself permission to relax.

Finally, remember that this is only one day of your 4-Week Total Body Transformation Challenge. Get through the next few days and you’ll soon be back to working out more intensely.
